LinkedIn Video Gold

I just spent 3 weeks testing LinkedIn video content

I posted around 20 videos, with roughly 10 minutes of editing time per video using social media video editing tools. I saw some weird stuff. Like, 40% of my views came from people who don't follow me.

I was using a mix of paid and organic reach, with a small budget of $50 per week. The engagement was pretty high, with around 2% of viewers liking or commenting on my posts.

Collaborative posts are a thing

I teamed up with a few other creators to make some collaborative posts. These got around 50% more views than my regular posts. I think it's because they showed up in more feeds.

  • 22% of my collaborative post views came from the other creators' followers
  • 15% came from people who don't follow either of us

This got me thinking about the creator marketplace, and how it can help brands reach new audiences.

People don't care about your brand, they care about what your brand can do for them, so make videos that solve problems or answer questions, and use Instagram Reels editing to make them look nice.

Out-of-network reach is huge

I used the new analytics metric to track my out-of-network reach, and it was around 30% of my total views. This means that 30% of the people who saw my videos don't follow me or anyone I collaborated with.

I'm using Andcut to edit my videos, and it's been a huge help. I can make quick changes and get my videos out fast.

  • 25% of my out-of-network views came from people who watched one of my videos and then looked at my other content
  • 20% came from people who saw a video and then visited my website
